I can't get the recent file list to activate by selecting  :
 tools/options/general ...
... the box is de-activated ( grayed out)
I've tried word 2002 support template, from office tools
it was working up until about the time I installed and then uninstalled
microsoft .net update
any help appreciated ,
Jim

Hi Jim,

If you used TweakUI or a registry hack to suppress the Documents list in the
Start menu, you'll have to turn that back on or do without the MRU in
Word -- they both depend on the same registry setting.

Jay,
I'm glad to say that fixed the problem
when I went to TweakUI explorer/settings and clicked on the maintain
document history
many thanks
Jim
