"Windows in Taskbar" box missing from Options Dialog

Am I missing something or do I need to be setting this somewhere else? The
"Windows in Taskbar" check box is not present in the 'Tools-Options' dialog.
Also I continuosly get the 'Macros not enabled in this project' error when
opening some default templates and cannot find where I enable them.

This option was introduced in Word 2002. See

Really? I seem to recall running into this problem before (all of my
documents opening in new windows) and I have always been able to turn it off
and have never used Word 2002

Then perhaps you had the add-in that mimicked MDI, as discussed in the
referenced article.
