I know I've done this in previous versions, but I can't remember how and I
can't find it again.  How can I add PASTE SPECIAL to the menu that pops up
when I RightClick in the text area of a document?

In the Tools > Customize dialog, check the "Shortcut Menus" item on the
Toolbars tab first. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/AsgnCmdOrMacroToToolbar.htm,
especially steps 2c and 4.
