I recently installed a trial version of Doc-to-Help. According to the
documentation, Doc-to-Help adds a new toolbar in word, which would let me
handle conditional text, crossreferences, etc. However, no such toolbar
appears in Word.

I use Word 2003 SP2. I also have Acrobat installed.

The new toolbar is supposed to be provided through two templates called
C1D2HAuthor.dot and C1D2HEngine.dot. These are visible in the Templates and
Add-ins dialog, but when I look at them with the organizer, I cannot see that
either contains a toolbar.

What to do? (Naturally, I've checked Doc-to-Helps documentation and support,
but without success.)

Regards,

John

If the add-ins are installed correctly and checked in tools > templates and
add-ins, then any toolbars they contain should be listed in view > toolbars.
It is possible for some add-ins to prevent other add-ins from writing to the
menu area. You may have to rename the add-ins in order for them to load in a
different order. http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm
may give you some insights.
Best plan is to disable all add-ins and see if this one works, before
complaining to the writers.

I finally solved this one, and I will provide the solution here in case
someone else has the same problem:

1.Open the source document.
2.Click On Tools and then click Template & add-ins.
3.In the global template and add-ins section click on the add button.
4.The Add template window will open, select C1H_NORM.DOT and click on open.
5.C1H_NORM.DOT would get added in the global templates section checkmark
it,click on ok.

Courtesy of ComponentOne support,thanks!
