Toolbars always resetting

I just loaded Office 2003 onto my new laptop, and the toolbars in Word keep
resetting themselves.  I disabled Word as the editor for Outlook messages and
every day I'm recustomizing the toolbars to eliminate extraneous buttons and
get my standard and formatting tools on one bar. Does anyone know of a
setting that I can toggle to get the toolbars to keep their customizations?
Thanks.

Do you have Adobe Acrobat 7 installed on that laptop? The Acrobat add-in is
known to suppress saving of Normal.dot, which would stop any customizations
including toolbars. If that's the case, see the last section of
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm.
