Windows Installer runs when I try to open a program.  It asks for the
Office 2000 disk.  If I click "cancel" about 7 times, it finally quits
running and I get my program.  I can't even find the Office 2000 disk
anymore.  Besides, I don't want to use it.

How can I get the installer to STOP!

It could be that this program you're trying to open can interface with
Office 2oo0 so office asks you for some plugin components that are needed to
run interfaced with that program. To solve the problem there could be 2
ways: the first is to insert the office2000 cd and let it install the
plugin, the second is still unknown to me but could be to rewrite some
records of the register, or simply choose an alternative program or maybe
force the program not to interface with office
