Try Tools>Customize and then drag the excess entries off the menu bar.

Under Tools, Customize, there are 3 tabs. Toolbars, commands, Options. Which
of these tabs d oI have to work on ? Is it Commands and Rearrange Commands.
Dont see anything about memu bar. Anyway its word 2003.

It doesn't matter which tab is selected. As long as the Customize dialog is
open, you can use the mouse to drag entries off the Menu Bar, menus, or
toolbars.
