The easiest way is to put the Address Book tool onto the Quick Access
Toolbar. Right-click the QAT and choose Customize... Set Choose commands
from: to Commands not on the ribbon. Find Address Book on the left, click on
it, then click Add, then click OK.

Thanks,

that works, but it does seem as thought this option should have been made
available one of the ribbon tabs.

As I recall, this wasn't directly available in Word 2003, either. In both
Word 2003 and 2007, the address book is available in the Envelopes & Labels
tools. But, if you wanted it for use directly in a document, you needed to
add it to a toolbar or a menu.

So... in Word 2007, you can click the Envelopes item in the Mailings ribbon,
then click the Address Book tool. This will insert the address into the
envelope, which you can then copy to the clipboard, etc.

But, that's why I said it's easiest to put the tool for it onto the QAT.

Hope this helps...
