Forms in Word 2007--limiting response size in text block

I created a form in Word 2007.  I cannot find how to limit the number of
charcaters someone can enter into the text response blocks.  Can someone
please help?  Thank you!

Put the form field in a bordereless table cell and lock the height and width
of that table cell to the required size.
