I've recently been given a tablet and would like to use it to write directly into Word 2007. I know that Word 2002 & Word 2003 had this facility, but I can't find it anywhere in Word 2007. I've seen that speech recognition is no longer part of word, but can't find anything on handwriting recognition. Has this been removed too? If not, how do I access it? Henry Handwriting recognition is handled by Windows. So you have to write in the TabletPC Input Panel and let it recognize those words. The device I have is not a TabletPC but an (dumb?) input device (USB) which can be used alongside a mouse or (with a little difficulty) instead of a mouse. It's a Trust TB-2100, if you want to have a closer look at it. It works fine in Paint and makes drawing easier and more accurate. I'm running XP. Where do I find the handwriting recognition? No other edition of Windows XP has tablet support and Office itself uses whatever the operating system offers. AS that particular XP Edition is only available as pre-installation on a Tablet PC, I am pretty sure you don't have it. In Windows Vista, tablet support is integrated into a lot of editions.
