How add "graphic"/"picture" styles to setup/template?

Hi,

In another work setting, I used to be able to select the above two settings
in Word documents. They don't appear in the list now. Assuming they can be
added from the CD, I used the MS Office CD [MS Office Prof. Edition, 2003]
here at work to upgrade my Word [also 2003]. However, I didn't see a clear
place where I could glean this functionality, and I was worried if I didn't
make the right selections, I  would accidentally end up deleting my apps of
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook in the process. (Very confusing interface!)

Can I get there from here?

Those are not built-in styles. If they were available previously, they must
have been user-created styles. You can have them in your current setup by
recreating them, copying the normal.dot file from the other computer, or by
using the organizer to copy just those styles to your current normal.dot
from any file in which they currently reside (or other templates where you
want them accessible).

OK, but what's the 'organizer'?  And I don't have any files around that had
those styles... that was in a different work location, setting and even Word
version ('97!).

Hi Mark

Can you describe the steps/appearance/operational result of the 'picture styles'?  There were add ins that would apply affects to
graphic effects similar to what is now built into Word 2007, for example.

Well, I can't, because I didn't create them... they were set up by my
predecessor, at my former job (and on Word '97!). I just ASSUMED they were
something that could be setup/imported w/ the OEM disk. All I want to do is
treat a diagram as a 'picture' or 'graphic'. Because right now, I tried
adding a caption to a diagram (below it), and not only did it end up ABOVE
it, but it's treating the diagram itself as a "caption."

If the graphic/diagram is inline, press Enter, then insert the caption below
it.

Well... if you don't have any of the older files available, then the
organizer won't help (Tools - Templates and Add-ins - Organizer).

To caption an In Line with Text picture, right-click it and choose Caption.
One of the options is to place the caption below the picture.
