Put Macros into Word 2007's Quick Access Toolbar?

In Word 2003, I had a custom pull-down menu that included about a dozen
macros for doing chores specific to our office; but now I have Word 2007
<grumble>, and it looks like they have taken away pull-down menus
completely.  So my next thought was that I'd be able to add the macros into
the "Quick Access Toolbar" (QAT), but when I try to customize the QAT, I
don't find any of my macros listed (I know they're available since I can run
them if I click on the Macros icon).

Can anyone help me with this?

So... in "Customize the Quick Access Toolbar and keybaord shortcuts", if you
set Choose commands from: to Macros, no macros are listed?

Are your macros stored in Normal.dotm or do you have to open the file where
they're contained to run them? If they're not stored in Normal.dotm, then
use the Organizer to copy them to Normal.dotm (click the Macros button in
the Developer ribbon, then click Organizer).

Thanks for the reply Herb,

No, they're stored in an add-in template.  Now, since posting the question,
I've discovered that I can go the Add-Ins Ribbon, and I can find the
pull-down menu listed that I used in Word 2003.  I can right-click the menu
name and add it to my Quick Access Toolbar.

This comes very close to what I wanted, except it's a little more awkward to
use than it should be: when I click its icon on the QAT, it first drops down
a little box labeled "Menu Com..." that displays one choice - the name of my
pull-down menu.  I then have to click on that to get my menu - one more
click than should be needed.  It may sound persnickety but I wish the icon
could just go directly to the pull-down menu and skip the "Menu Com..." box.

Also, I wonder if I could change the icon image to a custom bitmap?

Thanks for any help,

Jack

It seems you have discovered the process illustrated at
http://www.gmayor.com/Toolbars_in_word_2007.htm, however you cannot add to
the list of available QAT button faces.
