Every time I open "Word" the "file" choice from the menu
bar is missing, it is just not there. I have not idea why
this happened as it wasn't always like this, however, it
is very hard to set up the word document, page set up
etc... with this gone! Any ideas how to fix this? I have
had a technician install Office 2000 instead of office 97
and the new version still had "file missing??? Help!

Many users have reported losing the File menu from their menu bar. Try these
fixes (in order):
1. Open Tools | Customize. On the Toolbars tab, select Menu Bar and press
Reset.
2. If that doesn't work, switch to the Commands tab and select Built-in
Menus in the Categories list. In the Commands list, select File and drag it
to the menu bar.
3. If that doesn't work (or the problem recurs on restarting Word), see
