Word Spontaneously Displays Web Toolbar

When I'm working in Word, I sometimes get on the web to
check something without closing Word first.  When I return
to Word, it has displayed the Web toolbar.  I know how to
turn it off, of course, but is there a way that I can
instruct Word not to display it in the first place just
because I've gone on the web?
Thanks in advance to whomever can help.
