When typing numbered paragraphs, I experienced the
following problem.

1.  XXXXXXXXXXXXX

   Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
   xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

2.  XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What I do is the following:

I click on Format, then Bullets and Numbering and then
Numbered, then on the block next to none and then OK.

After typing the first paragraph, I hold shift in and
press enter to get 2. After typing the heading, I hol in
shift and press enter twice, to block the paragraph under
the heading, but this does not happen, the paragraph
start under the number, I have to revisit Format, Bullets
and numbering for the computer to accept it.

Could you help please

1. Make sure that the options referring to WordPerfect is cleared on
the General tab of the Tools>Options dialog box.

2. Use the List Number style for the numbered paragraphs. And for the
unnumbered paragraphs between the numbered ones, use the List Continue
style.

Hi Anna,

I suspect that perhaps you didn't hold down Shift "hard
enough". What you describe is what happens when you press
ENTER twice, without holding down Shift. This turns
numbering off and resets to "normal".
