I have to create a label and I want the system to "Auto"
number the labels, starting at number 1.
I have no problem with the label set-up, but I am stumped
how to auto number the labels--so i don't have to type in
each number on each label individually.....
Help! Make the instructions simple, please.
Thanks!

Debbie,
Here are step by step instructions for numbering using a
mail merge.

Another way is to just enter and copy a {SEQ MyNum} field
to each label.
Type: SEQ MyNum in the first cell. Select: SEQ MyNum and
press CTRL+F9, then press F9. Copy the field to the other
cells and press F9 again to update.

If it is OK for the numbers to go across rather than down your page, use a
SEQ field. You can find this in help. Insert > Field.
{ SEQ "MyNumber" }
Put the field in one label (table cell). Copy to the others until you have a
full page.
Copy the page and paste it to make as many pages as you need. Ctrl-A to
select the document and then press F9 to update the numbers.
