Page numbers printing out incorrectly

I am an end user of Microsoft Office 2000 Professional
and am having problems with Word. Page numbers do not
print out, instead {PAGE} appears as a hyperlink. I have
tried downloading patches, and new drivers for the
printer and neither of these options worked. I need to
know how to fix this problem. If it is a glitch in the
product we installed then I want to know how to be
reimbursed. Thank you.

On the Print tab of Tools | Options, clear the check box for "Field codes."
