Hello,
I have a word document with footer, displaying Page
number as X of Y. I added the page number from 'Header
and Footer Tool' using the options, 'Insert Page Number'
and 'Insert Number of Pages'.
My problem is,
If I just open the document and close, it does not prompt
to save the document. It just closes the document which
is fine.
But If I open, print, and then close, It prompts "Do you
want to save the changes you have made to xyz.doc?" yes,
no, cancel. We dont want the word to prompt.
How can this be resolved?
Thanks and Regards

There is probably no way around this short of a macro in the document. Even
if you clear the check box for "Update fields" on the Print tab of Tools |
Options, fields in the header and footer are updated at print time, and that
will "dirty" the document.
