Hi Folks,

Does anyone know how to get Word 2000 to activate embedded links?

My email links work but I can not go from a link in Word to a Web page. When
I click on a Word link, it can not find the server. How do I get Word to
open a web page from a link?

Thanks A Lot,

Hi Bob

Two things to check.

First, at Tools > Options > Edit, have you ticked the box at "Use CTRL + click to follow hyperlink"? If so, you have to use
ctrl-click to follow a link to a web site.

Second, do you have a firewall (eg ZoneAlarm)? If so, maybe it has been told not to allow Word to access the internet.

Hope this helps.

I believe the Ctrl+click was introduced in Word 2002 and should not affect
Word 2000. But the firewall idea seems like a likely avenue to pursue.
