Hi, I created a word document on Word 2003 with the page number in the
footer. When I open the same document on previous word versions (97, 2000,
XP) the page number is always 0 (zero).

I tried to recreate the field but have not success. if I open a new
document and include the page number field it works, but from documents
created on Word 2003 not.

Is it a bug ?  What can I do ?

Thanks.

Hi rtcastro

This bug existed in earlier versions of Word, but as far as I can see, it's
been solved in Word 2003.

See Page numbers display as 0

Hope this helps.

Thanks Shauna. Isn?t there a patch for this bug on Word 2002 ?

The workaround is fairly simple; just make sure that the graphic is anchored
to a paragraph outside the table. Since Word insists on an empty paragraph
below the table, just anchor the graphic to it.
