I have created a style and stored it in a template. This
style has an outline numbered list (5 levels)in it and it
is named. I then point a Listnum field to this style.
Each level is inserted using a macro, which inserts a
particular level, a tab and then puts on a style which
corresponds to the style of the Heading or paragraph
which follows.
A problem has occured when certain people open the
document in that they see the numbering in the wrong way,
should be:
1. Heading
1.2 Text, etc
but instead it looks like perhaps:
1. Heading
1.a Text, etc.
As the numbering style, the macros and the paragraph
styles are stored in the document why can some people see
it correctly and others not? This is also a problem when
clients open one of our documents.
Any help gratefully received.

To set up outline numbering correctly, you need more than one style; you
need one for each level. See
