I have set up a list numbering scheme in a style in a template.  Several
different macros access the list numbering scheme and insert the appropriate
number depending on the level.  This works well until we do track changes.

When a new numberis inserted the new number has a score through it (looking
like it is being deleted) and the old number has an underscore (looking like
it is being inserted).  This, of course, is the wrong way round and looks
peculiar.

If I right click on the change and accept, the correct number goes in.

I would welcome any help on why is this happening and how to fix it.

I believe this is by design. Numbering -- field numbering as well as
paragraph/outline numbering -- won't be correct until you have accepted the
changes.

This is not quite what I had hoped for, but thanks for your reply.
