TOC Numbering

I am a bit of a novice when it comes to using TOC's but have managed
to bundle my way through all the formatting etc, just 1 remaining
problem.

Currently my document looks like this:

Chapter 1    Title
1.1          Heading
1.2          Heading
1.2.1        Subheading
1.2.2        Subheading
.
.
.
Chapter 5    Title
1.9          Heading
1.9.1        Subheading

What I can't seem to get it to do is restart the numbering for the TOC
2 level, i.e when the chapter number has changed I would want it to
become:

Chapter 5    Title
5.1          Heading
5.2.1        Subheading

I have tried modifying the settings a number of times to restart the
numbering after TOC level 1, it just won't work, as I hope my example
has explained I have managed to get it to work for TOC level 3 as that
starts renumbering, just not TOC 2.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

This has nothing to do with the TOC itself and everything to do with how the
headings are set up. See

Thanks for your help, had actually finally managed to work that one
out before your response but thanks anyway.
