Need Help - 24 Apr 2005 05:04 GMT
I made a table of contents, and the insterted a section break and restarted
my page number at 1.

However, when I generate my table of contents, the page numbers reflect the
current physical page number.  I want the toc to reflect the new page
number.

Any suggestions?

Hi Need Help

Word's rule is this: it will show in the Table of Contents whatever page
number would display on the pages of the document. So, the first thing to
sort out is to get the numbers on the pages working the way you want them.
Then your Table of Contents should reflect the pages in the document.

The following articles may help:
How to control the page numbering in a Word document

http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/PageNumbering.htm

and

Working with sections

http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/WorkWithSections.htm

Hope this helps.
