Page x of y incorrect in footer

I have a 33 page document which was cobbled together out of numerous
other documents. I would like to insert a field in the footer so the
pages numbers display . I inserted a field and it works fine until page
19, which displays as page 4. I noticed in header/footer view that there
is a footer 2 and a footer 3 later in the document. How can I fix this
so the page numbers display correctly?

With the selection in each of those sections in turn, select Page Numbers
from the Insert menu and then click on the Format button and click the radio
button next to "Continue from Previous Section". Then click on OK and then
on Close.

That did it, thanks, this was making me nuts!
