We recently conducted a very large Microsoft Word merge document. When we
created the initial doument, we created a bulleted list of numbered questions
(1-60) which incorporates variable data into the questionnaire from an Excel
database. When our print shop completed the merge and printed the document,
we had thousands of questionnaires that had questions 1-21, 1-29, and 1-10.
Can anyone tell me what caused the numbering to restart in these random
locations and how we can avoid this problem in the future?

Hard to tell what caused it without seeing the document, but a sure way to
avoid it is to convert all the numbers to text. That can be done using VBA

Hope this helps.
