I've created many big manuals comprised of separate chapters and
successfully produced a TOC in the "MAIN" document with Chapt-Page numbers,
by using {SEQ Chapter \r#} in each chapter/document and RD fields in the
"main" document, eg:

36 Heading 1 ................. 36-1

     Heading 2 .............. 36-5

     Heading 2 .............. 36-9

And I've created Chapt-Page numbering (eg: "Page 36-3") in the footer of
each chapter, using ( SEQ Chapter \c }-{ PAGE }.

BUT ...

My next client wants numbering on more Heading Levels ...

36.1 Heading 2

36.1.1 Heading 3

36.1.1.1 Heading 4

... and their Progam Specs manual has 600+ pages in 144 chapters (documents)

I tried INCLUDETEXT but it apparently has known bugs with cross-references
and it failed after 88 Chapters.

I can't think how to tackle the additional levels of Heading numbering to
produce a TOC with Ch-Page numbering.

Any hints please?

PS: They want to be able to update the Program Specs themselves when I
leave! (i.e. no VBA if possible)

PPS: I have nearly resorted to putting a TOC in each Chapter, then
converting each {TOC} field to text and pasting them all into the "MAIN"
document as text.

But what's the right way to tackle it please?
