Hi,

I'm using Word 2000 on Windows XP.

I'm going to be sending out letters to customers, perhaps up to 300 and I
want to be able to assign a unique number to each customer, and have it
embedded within the document text.  For example: "... your unique reference
number is [ 176 ] ..."

The numbers would begin at '1' and increment by one for each letter being
sent out.  I had wondered if it were possible to arrange this so that the
numbering would increment as the letters were being printed out - is this
possible? I can't find any method of achieving this.

It's highly likely that I am approaching this from the wrong direction, so
if anybody could offer some advice or better still an example that would be
great.

Many thanks,
Neil
