Hi I need to number the paragraphs in the left margin of a document. It is very similar to line numbering; but numbers the beginning of each paragraph. Any ideas? I am looking to place numbers in the left margin for each paragraph so they can be referred to during discussions. This would be numbering paragraphs with heading styles and without heading styles. Well, it is a lot more work, but see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/MarginalText.htm. That may do what you need. It isn't automatic, but it works. You could create an AutoText entry with a frame and a SEQ field.
