Hi Fred:
The others have referred you to an article that gives comprehensive
instructions for doing this.
However, personally I tend to fall back on a simplistic method: rotate the
table :-)
This is only practicable if the table is the only thing on the page. Copy
it, paste it as a picture, rotate it 90 degrees, and delete the original.
If the table is not going to change, it can be a lot simpler doing it that
way than futzing around with rotated page numbers :-)
Certainly not as "elegant", and not a realistic proposition if you need to
update the table. It's a quick-and-dirty. It's not a good idea to try to
"edit" the picture after you have pasted it. Some versions of Word will
allow it, others will trash the table.
Cheers

My approach can be even more low-tech. As described in the article, if you
don't have to submit the document electronically, it's easiest to just print
a blank page with the page number on it, then run the sheet back through the
printer to print the table from another file.

Yeah :-)
In the old days, I would construct a "Landscape" section at the end of the
document and put all of the landscape content in there without headers and
footers.
In the body of he document I had a series of otherwise bank pages with the
headers and footers.
On my desk I had scissors and glue :-)

Not even necessary to have scissors and glue; just run the "blank pages"
back through and print the landscape pages on them.

Many thanks to all who responded to my question. You have taught me
several methods to approach my problem and I will have a use for all of
them, depending on the complexity of the document I work with.
