MS Office Forum / Word / Numbering / April 2006tab and numbered lists - easy question i hope.
I used to be able to hit the tab key after creating a numbered list to increase the indent ex: 1. xyz a. (after hitting enter from above line, i would just hit tab to increase the indent and change the numbering to whatever was next - letters in this case) For some reason the tab key does not perform that same function anymore and now i have to go up to the toolbar and hit the "increase indent" tool to perform the function. I do a lot of outlining and having to fumble around with my laptop mouse is annoying. Did I dactivate some option in word? I have searched quite a bit in the help menu to no avail. I'm sure at one point, using Word 2003, that when I hit the tab key, the next numbering level was executed. Now when I hit tab, the text just goes to the next tab setting.
