I want to do a numbered list for a will, with sections and subsections (ie.
numbered paragraphs). I need the paragraphs to be numbered:
1a
b
c
2a
b
c
and so on.

I can do this:
1
a
b
c
but I don't know how to put the "1a" on the same paragraph. How do I achieve
this?

Thanks.

Insert a { LISTNUM \L 2 } field to insert a second-level number in the
same paragraph as a first-level number. To insert the field, you can
use the Insert | Field dialog box. Alternatively, press Ctrl+F9, which
inserts field delimiters, {}, and then type the code as shown above
between the delimiters. Press F9 to display the field result. Note
that to change levels in an inserted LISTNUM field, you can
right-click it and choose to Increase Indent (or Decrease Indent).
Also, you can use copy and paste to duplicate the field; it will
automatically update to show the correct number.
