Is there a way of having a different numbering scheme for each section of my
document. My document is split into 6 chapters each divided by a section
break. What I would like is the following example:
Chapter 1:
1.1
1.1.1
1.1.2
1.1.3
1.2
1.2.1
1.2.2
Chapter 2
2.1
2.1.1
2.1.2
2.1.3
2.2
2.2.1
2.2.2
2.3
Chapter 3
amd so on
I have set up all 9 headings from heading 1 to heading 9 as instructed by
suzanne barnhills posting in 7/12/2007
Thanks

Once you have defined the numbering attached to paragraph styles, all you
have to do is apply the appropriate styles to text paragraphs. The numbering
scheme takes care of the restarts (regardless of section breaks).

I suspect you may have misunderstood the concept of outline numbering. See

instructions.
