Using Word 2007, I'm trying to create custom page numbering for my
appendices, e.g A-1, B-4, etc. I've got my custom multilevel list setup and
attached to a custom style "Appendix Heading" which nicely gives me Appendix
A, Appendix B, etc. for my headings (man, that difficult to figure out how
to do). In an effort to get my appendix # into the page number, I went to
Header & Footer Tools, Page Number, Format Page Numbers, but the resulting
dialog ONLY lets me include chapter numbers based on the out-of-the-box
Heading styles.
Since I don't want to change the Heading styles, how do I accomplish this?
Thanks,
Jay

Jay,
I may be wrong but I don't think you can unless you use the built-in heading
styles.
