Hi,
Using Word 97, I like to number my pages 1 of 5 etc. I can't seem to do
it. All I get is "1", "2", etc. Can someone tell me how to do this ?
Thanks, Eileen

1. View | Header and Footer. This puts you in the header pane. If you want
the number in the footer, click the Switch Between Header and Footer button
on the Header and Footer toolbar.
2. On the Header and Footer toolbar, select "Page X of Y" from the AutoText
menu. Use the built-in tab stops or paragraph formatting to align the text
as desired.

On your Header/Footer toolbar, click the icon with the #
on it to get your page number. Then type a space, the
word "of" and another space. Then click the icon next to
the right to insert the number of pages.

You have to go into View - Footer/Header and click in the
footer and then click the page number format button.
