Hi All

Multiple section question  :-)

1- Searching thru this newsgroup i was able to number my page using the
"section number" - "Page section"

so at the bottom of each page  i have

page 16-4  (section 16 page 4 of section 16)

Now i would like to have this 16-4 appear in my index, instead of the
regular page number.

Is it possible to reuse the field code

 {SECTION  \* Arabic} - {SECTIONPAGES  \* Arabic}

Inside the index table?

My index will look like this
Introduction___________3-1
Interface _____________4-1
   Dashboard__________4-3
   Working zone________4-8
Tools________________5-1

2- The book i write will have 1500 to 2000 pages, I will have to add
modifications/section  has the subject evolve.

I was looking at merging multiple word documents to spread the load of this
huge document into multiple small one.

I'm  looking at reference to help doing this. If possible creating one word
document per section would it be a good solution?

Does this will have an effect on my index since i may have multiple level of
document embed in each oder ( if possible)

Thanks for any input

1. See http://word.mvps.org/faqs/numbering/chapternumber.htm.

2. It is usually easier to have a single document, but if you want to
connect several documents for the purpose of TOC and index creation, you
will have to make use of RD fields. See
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=148 ("Creating
a Table of Contents Spanning Multiple Documents").
