numbering and word help

When printing pages w/nbrs, instead of the page nbr I
get (page). This just started occuring.
With Word open,using HELP icon I get "illegal operation
etc.

Press Alt+F9 to toggle from field codes to field results.

Make sure that "Field codes" is deselected on the Print
tab as well as the View tab of the Tools>Options dialog
box.
