I have Office XP Professional and my WORD 2002
application. I am putting together a list of things and I
am using the numbering option. When I reached 100, the
indention (gap between the number 100 and the first
letter of the sentence I typed) widened. The same goes
for other sentences numbered 101 and above.

How can I fix this so that the indention is of the same
size as sentences numbered 1 through 99?

Ben,

One way is to customize the number alignment and change if from the defualt
"left" to "right."

This will result in a layout like this:

   1. xxx
 10. xxx
100. xxx

If you are numbering you might as well get started off on the right foot.

Although setting the number alignment to "right" is the correct approach
(numbers should align on the period), if you leave it set to left, you just
need a larger indent and tab space after to accommodate the longer numbers.
