Hi,

I am new to this Word MVP thing. I have looked for the
answer to my problem on http://www.mvps.org/word and
Microsoft Knowledge Base with no luck. I am using MS Word
2000. I have created a Table of Contents. When I click on
a heading in the toc, I get the message "Cannot open the
specified file". In the document, the Edit|Links...
command is unavailable. I have tried deleting all the
hidden toc bookmarks and, then, both updating the toc and
reinserting the entire toc. When I select the toc bookmark
and go to it, the bookmark works! I think the problem is
the relationship between the style and the bookmark is
broken. Or is it in the toc itself? Is there a way to
relink the style and the bookmark to make the hyperlinked
toc work? Do I have to mess with the VBA? Is the problem
not any of the above? How do I fix this?
Thanks, Aimee

I figured it out! I set a value in the Hyperlink base
under File|Properties|Summary. By deleting the value, the
hyperlinks in the toc work again. Thanks again, Aimee.
