What is the syntax for a Word table say for cell A1. The
cell will be blank until a number is added. Then it will
diplay the number as a dollar amount. In Excel it would
be really easy. Just format the cell for Dollars. How is
the cell formatted for a Word table?

Frank,

For this I think you will need a protected form with the text field type set
for number and the text format for currency.  Click View>Toolbars>Forms to
open the forms toolbar.
