In Word 2002 on the menu.. I choose format | Bullets and Numbering | and whatever Bullet or Numbering format I want

When I hit enter or tab at first line.... it should indent with next bullet/number or goto the next line with new bullet/number.. BUT it doesn't show or display any graphical bullet/number.

AND when I go back into format | Bullets and Numbering | -- it shows the None format highlighted..

it's not saving the setting or format I pick...  very strange.  I hope I have explained good enough for any of you to help me.

*I have fixed this problem once by deleting my local profile in XP and logging back in.. BUT problem came back
*This is not the Tab Function problem -  Word 2002: On the AutoFormat As You Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect
Options, check the box for "Set left- and first-indent with tabs and
backspaces."

Hi Steve

The Format > Bullets and Numbering button is notoriously unreliable. To
get any semblance of order into bullets, you need to use bulleted
styles. The following page describes how to do that:

How to control bullets in Microsoft Word

Hope this helps.
