MS Office Forum / Word / Numbering / July 2003Heading and Outline numbering interaction
I have a document that I am trying to number with a combination of heading and outline numbering. I would like to see: 1. Heading 1.1 Ouline 1.2 Outline 1.3 Heading 1.3.1 Outline 2. Heading 2.1 Heading 2.2 Outline I can't get the heading and outline numbering to interact correctly. Any suggestions? Thanks Sue > I would like to see: > 1. If you need headings for a TOC or document map, you may be able to link the desired styles to the outline levels (I've never tried it, but it should work), or manually mark the text.  SignatureJN Heading numbering *is* outline numbering. You just want a mix of heading and body text styles in a single outline-numbered list.
