I can't add any text after endnotes, only before. I need
to add some tables and figure legends AFTER my endnote
references to submit an article for publication. Thanks

G'day "G.Tetlow" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com>,

Word won't let you do that, so what you do is either make a second
document to hold the "afterwards stuff" or use footnotes instead.
Endnotes, funnily enough, mean at the end :-)

Set the endnotes to be at the end of the section rather than the end of the
document. At the point where you want the endnotes, insert a section break
and put your tables and figure legends in the next section. If the main
document already has more than one section, then you won't be able to use
this method unless you have Word 2002 or above. If you do have one of those
versions, go to the Layout tab of Page Setup for each section before the one
where you want to collect the endnotes and check the box for "Suppress
endnotes."

It works in Word2000, too, but you have to set "Suppress end notes" from a
macro.
If you do have Word2000, see "SuppressEndnotes" in the VBA help, or post
back for the necessary code.

If you set your endnotes to be at the "end of section" instead of "end of
document", you can put in another section at the end that will allow you to
have additional text/items after the endnotes.  If you use this option, the
endnotes pages will have to have the same numbering as the document text of
that section (i.e., you can't have it start at p. "i" if the page right
before it is "7" - the page will be "8".
