I have 7 sections in my document.

Sections 1-5 do NOT have page numbers in the footer and i don't want them
there.

Section 6 does have page numbers in the footer BUT only page 1 shows a page
number.  When I add page numbers at page 2 in section 6 then sections 1-5
get page numbers!

This is driving me NUTS.  I've now spent more time trying to format  this
document that writing it.

What the heck do I have to do.  This has to be a bug.

PS I'm using Word 2002.

Hi there,

Have you turned off "Same as previous" for all footers in section 6 (First
page footer, Odd/Even footers or regular footer)?

Section 1 has no footers, then Section 2 to 5 have "Same as previous" on.
Section 6 must not have "Same as previous" for all of its 4 possible types
of footers. If you want page numbers from section 6 onwards, just activate
"Same as previous" in section 7.
