Hi,

I want to make a TOC as follows

1. The first line.......................4
   a. problem 1
   b. problem 2
2. The second line..................6
   a. solution 1
   b. solution 2

I can make only a TOC with or without page numbering but not the one I
decribed above.

TIA

Marcel

Don't feel stupid. As the article says, even when you grasp the idea of the
switch to omit numbering, it is far from obvious that if you want to omit it
from just one level, you have to express that level as a range anyway (2-2).
That took a lot of trial and error on my part to discover!
