Everytime I insert a picture (jpg etc) into a Word document the default
properties are applied -- postition, text wrapping, etc. and they are not the
formats I use on most of the images I insert into a Word document.

How can I change the "format picture" defaults in Word?

If you have Word 2002 or above, you can select the default wrapping style on
the Edit tab of Tools | Options. None of the other properties (position,
size, etc.) can be specified as default.
