I spend half of my life with Word but . . this is new to me:

When I pasted dashes like this into Word
    ------------------------------------

they were converted to a margin to margin solid horzontal line that repeats
at the bottom of every new page as I add text.

The line cannot be selected and it cannot be deleted by highlighting the
area above and below it.

How do I get rid of this line at bottom of each page ?

Thanks
