I am making a photo directory using a 24 cell layout.  12 for photos and 12
for name/phone info.  How can I auto sort and still keep the book layout
correct? - for instance when I have to add a person in the middle.  Thanks.

Assuming you have two columns one with pictures the other with text, then
you can select the text column and use table > sort which will put the table
in alphabetical order, however if that does not give you the required sort
order, without mail merge it would be very difficult unless you put the
additional row in the right place manually - see
http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_labels_with_word_xp.htm or
http://www.gmayor.com/merge_labels_with_word_2007.htm  and
http://www.gmayor.com/convert_labels_into_mail_merge.htm  and
http://www.gmayor.com/graphics_on_labels.htm. Your table can be treated as
labels for this exercise.
