I have a report with margins of
top 1"
bottom 1"
left 2.5"
right 1.25"
Note the assymetric border on the left side. I want a border along the left
margin (i.e., a vertical line running from 1" from the top to 1" from the
bottom, set 2.5" from the left edge of the page). It seems like it should be
a basic function, and I hope it is, but I haven't figured out how to do it
yet. Here's what I have tried:
If I use a paragraph border, the line gets messed up if I have different
paragraph indents (e.g., with a numbered list) or if the text doesn't go to
the bottom of the page. If I use a page border, I can't get it far enough
from the left edge of the page, and it runs from the very top of the page to
the very bottom of the page (ignoring the top and bottom margins). I have
tried putting a line into a header but that doesn't seem to work well if I
change the header or copy a section of one report into another report.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Travis

Try this... in Format - Borders and Shading - Page Border, click the Options
button. Set Measure from: to Text instead of Edge of Page.
