Is there an easy and quick way to place a field in a table cell for exporting
to PDF?  When I do it, it takes numerous attempts at positioning the object
to get it set squarely within the confines of the cell boundaries.

What type of field is this? If they are for display only, see

Thanks Stefan:
These fields will be ones that a person can fill in online.  I will be
exporting the word doc with the fields to PDF format.

It seems as if you have to ask in a forum that deals with your PDF converter
to get the appropriate advice, then.
